03About

Careful at the interface. Disciplined underneath.

Portrait of Bayram Alkan

I'm Bayram, a full-stack engineer in Ankara. I studied software engineering at Beykoz University, co-founded a small startup while I was still a student, and joined Monster Notebook in 2022. There I grew from building components to owning products end to end: storefronts, support, payments, mobile and, now, the commerce backend underneath them.

Outside work I build small, careful things for real people and real moments, like a photo-sharing app for our wedding guests or a widget that lets two people see how the other is doing.

How I work

  1. 01

    Spec before code

Every non-trivial change starts as a short written spec. Agents and people build against the same document.

  2. 02

    Agents with guardrails

I work agent-first every day with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, but each repo has an AGENTS.md contract, test-first slices and a review against the spec before anything is committed.

  3. 03

    Decisions on the record

Architectural choices go into append-only decision logs, so the reasoning outlives the conversation that produced it.

  4. 04

Own the stack, keep it lean

I like owning the whole stack, running on free tiers where they fit, and shipping in small, ordered commits that each leave the build green.
